Practice Schedule
Practice times vary every semester, but are usually from
6-8 pm on weekdays, 2-3 times a week.

This typically includes 2 field practices and 1 lift session
Is our team right for YOU?
Before our first practice many of us had never heard of Rugby or held a ball before. In fact, most of us weren't introduced to Rugby until joining Cal Women's Rugby in college. If you've never played before, no worries! We'll teach you everything you need to know.

If you have played Rugby or other sports before there is still a place for you. Many skills from other sports translate well to the Rugby pitch. You will have plenty of opportunity to show off your skills and compete at a high level.

What is Practice Like?
We jump into some warm-ups and stretches to ensure we are prepared for the training session. Our warm-ups replicate situations seen in games and warm up not only our bodies, but our minds. Practice will often entail some touch rugby games and various drills before we break up into smaller groups to work on specific skills.
What to bring
You can wear any comfortable athletic clothing to practice. Most of us wear an athletic t-shirt and running shorts.

In terms of footwear, if you have cleats that would be ideal but if not just bring a trusty pair of tennis shoes.

Don't forget a water bottle!
